Merano WineFestival – The WineHunter Award
The Merano WineFestival is one of Europe’s leading events dedicated to fine wine and gastronomy. Founded in 1992 in Merano, Northern Italy, it brings together each year a carefully curated selection of producers and wines recognised for their quality, distinctive identity and ability to express the diversity of the world’s wine regions.
The festival’s selection is closely linked to The WineHunter Award, a distinction granted following a rigorous tasting and evaluation process led by Helmuth Köcher, founder of both the Merano WineFestival and The WineHunter. Wines are assessed by expert tasting panels, with particular attention paid not only to technical quality and balance, but also to character, authenticity and the overall emotion conveyed through the tasting experience.
Award-winning wines become part of The WineHunter Award Collection, with different levels of recognition including Rosso, Gold and Platinum. Receiving a WineHunter Award is therefore both a mark of quality and an opportunity for selected wines to gain visibility within the prestigious world of the Merano WineFestival, among wine professionals, journalists and discerning enthusiasts.
The distinctions awarded to Domaines Paul Mas reflect the international recognition of our wines and highlight the diversity of our Southern French terroirs, as well as Jean-Claude Mas’ vision: to craft authentic, expressive wines driven by character, precision and a constant pursuit of excellence.
