The story begins at Ch\u00e2teau Paul Mas in Conas hamlet, in the splendid town of P\u00e9zenas, the city of famous playwright Moli\u00e8re. The estates then expanded to Montagnac, with Nicole vineyard and Mas des Tannes, to Malras near Limoux, with Domaine Astruc, to Gaja et Villedieu, with Ch\u00e2teau Arrogant Frog, and to Ceyras, with Ch\u00e2teau Cr\u00e8s Ricards.<\/p>\n
Jean-Claude Mas\u2019s great-grandfather, Auguste Mas, bought the first family vineyard
in 1892, when he aquired 9 ha (22 acres) of vines in the Mas de Bicq, near the village of St Pons de Mauschiens (close to Montagnac).
In 1934, Raymond Mas brings the family vineyard to a surface of 15 ha in Domaine Montredon (Montagnac).
In 1954, Paul Mas develops the vineyard to 120 ha (296 acres) with his brother, Maxime Mas.
In 1987, Paul Mas gives 35 ha to his son, Jean-Claude, who creates 13 years later Domaines Paul Mas.<\/p>\n

The Conas hamlet in P\u00e9zenas is the historical cradle of Domaines Paul Mas. Located on the Ile de Conas Estate, the castle has a long history, going back more than a thousand years. Domaine de Conas was split in 1792 and sold at auction.
